Positivity Isn’t a Secret

Every cloud has a silver lining

Or something to that affect

Many just say it in passing

But it deserves much more respect

After each storms comes a rainbow

And we marvel at the sight

But there’s a lesson in its brilliance

And the message it should incite

Without darkness there is no light

We all know this is true

There’s a deeper meaning if you look close

And it’s meant for me and you

When tragedy hits, it’s frightful

And our minds can’t comprehend

Anything but the sorrow

And the pain which has no end

We can’t see beyond the fog

We can’t hear above the noise

We can’t speak without tears falling

Any joy, the hurt destroys

We can’t think beyond the chaos

Just to understand, we try

Feeling anger and confusion

Asking God for reasons why

I knew when I was young

This truth I wish to speak

Please open up your hearts

Though your spirit may be weak

There is good in every bad

Some truth in every lie

You don’t always see it right away

But don’t let it pass you by

It isn’t really a secret

But it’s something you must find

Follow me on this journey

If you so incline

Sit back and look at life

A little different than before

And all the thoughts you’re thinking

The meaning don’t ignore

This life we live is precious

Truly a gift from Above

But we’re doing an injustice

If we live it without Love

Little disagreements

Don’t really mean a thing

Minor things that hurt us

Forgiveness we should bring

Learn to work together

Join in one accord

For the good of those around us

It will bring a great reward

Let’s let go of our egos

Let’s hear each other out

We can agree to disagree

That’s what togetherness is about

Let tragedy bring us closer

Let sorrow pull us near

Let pain and anger bind us

Yes this truth is very clear

We will never know the answers

Find a spark and light a flame

Let this loss create something better

So this loss is not in vain.
