Damaged

She twirls as the wind blows around her

And dances as strong raindrops fall

She sings with the thunder above her

And soars as the lightning strikes call

She laughs though her heart may be breaking

And gives comfort when she wants to cry

Her soul seeks the beauty around her

And she loves so her spirit won't die

She's damaged but still isn't broken

She seeks light when her world seems so dark

She touches all those that surround her

And when her flame fades, she ignites a spark

She knows that this life isn't for her

And her plan written long, long ago

All the heartache and pain that she's gone through

Gave her more strength than she'll ever know

So she reaches to help those around her

And she smiles as she swallows her tears

And the peace she receives from her efforts

Gives her courage and lightens her fears

For no storm in this world can deter her

Her joy will continue to flow

Though damaged she'll never be broken

Her light will continue to glow.
